The White Review Poet’s Prize 2020

We are delighted to announce that the winner of the White Review Poets Prize 2020 is Kandace Siobhan Walker.

The shortlisted portfolios were judged by Jay Bernard, Emily Berry and Kayo Chingonyi. Chingonyi said: ‘In a very strong field, Kandace Siobhan Walker’s portfolio was particularly striking because of the restless energy that animates these poems. Walker has hit upon an approach to poem-making that is as improvisationally deft as it is technically assured.’

Walker receives a prize of £2,500, and her portfolio will be published in a forthcoming issue of The White Review. This year, the prize was run in partnership with Cheerio Publishing.
