Daniel Galera is a Brazilian writer, translator and editor, and one of the authors on Granta's The Best of Young Brazilian Authors list. His novel, Blood-Drenched Beard was published by Hamish Hamilton in May. This piece was originally featured in Serrote, a Brazilian literary magazine, in 2010.
