Tropenkoller

Taking the title Tropenkoller (Tropical Madness), German artist Lothar Hempel’s latest exhibition at Stuart Shave/Modern Art, London (Feb 27-Mar 21), incorporates a diverse range of media and imagery in order to interrogate certain constructs intrinsic to the genetic makeup of society: human interaction, morality, and prejudice.

ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTOR

is a Berlin-based artist. Having studied at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Germany, Hempel's work has been the subject of solo shows at Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam, (1998) Institute of Contemporary Art, London (2002), and La Conservera, Ceuti, Spain (2012).
